I'm pretty convinced tht many of you guys grew up with TVB dramas, just like myself. And everyone would have got their own favourites.
Being a big fan of the TVB productions, i would like to pay tribute to one of my favourite actor, Wayne Lai(黎耀祥).I am sure most of us has seen him acting, but not many would remember his name, one reason being that his name is hard to pronounce let alone remember and another being that he might not be as attractive as other young and upcoming male actors...I think most of us might recognise him as the one who acted as "zhu bajie"(豬八戒) in the ever popular TVB classic "Journey to the West".
Not many would have realised that Wayne Lai has actually joined TVB for more than 20 years now, 26 years to be exact. Starting from being a office boy before turning into acting roles. Despite his fabulous acting skills which equipped with what a person might need to be a "first in the line" actor, he is hardly given any lead role in a drama until recent few years. Usually only the lead supporting actor of a drama.
What i really appreciate from Wayne is his act of professionalism and to always give his best in watever given role. With this, his even outshined main actors in many occasions.
All his hard work and patients has paid off when his awarded the "Best Supporting Actor" in the 2008 TVB Drama Award Ceremony. The drama that has won him the award is "The Gentle Crackdown II"(秀才愛上兵), starring as 戴從文. The recognition has also provided him with his first lead actor role in his latest drama "The Rosy Business"(巾幗梟雄 ) as 柴九."The Rosy Business", which showed during May in Hong Kong, is still leading the 2009 most watched drama chart in HK.
I hope he would keep up with his good work and continue to produce great dramas for fans like me. Got to sign off now:)
