Yesterday, the 11th might be of the great but sad day for all geordie fans. Well for me, i felt sad rather than happy as i will not get to see my favourite player to wear that all mighty black and white shirt on the football pitch anymore.
11th May 2006, Venue: St. James' Park Newcastle. The great player hang his boots with a testimonial against Celtic. Alan Shearer, the name of the great player. The player that put his favourite and home town club in front of anything, even money and more honors. Eventhough Shearer didn't win anything big or small with the magpies, i strongly think that he is going to come back sometimes in the future as the manager of his beloved Newcastle and bring them to greater heights.
The man who broken the world transfer record when Kevin Keegan bought him from Blackburn for $15 million dollars 10 great years ago is arguebly the greatest ever Newcastle player in the club's history. With 206 goals for Newcastle , he surpasses Milburn's 200 goals and his also the PremierShip's all time leading scorer.
Eventhough the great man had step down as a player but his spirit will always be with the magpies. Let's applaud Newcastle and England's Greatest No 9. Alan Shearer!!!
