The 29th games of Olympiad wil come to a close officially 2molo nite and i would really like to thank all the athletes and the host nation for bringing such great event to us. Australia has just won their 14th gold medal minutes ago through Matthew Micham in the mens' diving when he delivered a near perfect final dive and dis also ends China's total domination in diving. Although they stil do with 7 out of 8 gold in diving..:p
Aussie athletes has again show the world what they are capable of by pulling off some remarkable upsets like Hooker in vault pole yesterday and matthew in diving minutes ago..The biggest story here in Aussie is of course the emerged of a new superstar in Stephanie Rice, the Olympic triple gold medalist in swimming from Brisbane.It is a very astonishing achievement looking at the small population we have in this kangaroo country. And as for my home country, the one and only Malaysia..one word would describe it all for me, "dissapointing" yet again. Although many would disagree with me:) The malaysian athletes has let us down again and again all these years. Other then Lee chong wei which brings a little bit of joy for us.. and some encouraging display from mew choo in womens' single, our man archer and cyclist which reached the quarter final... thre isnt much i could say about the others looking at the amount of "effort" our malaysian goverment have spent in sport back in mas. And the eye catching reward of 1 million ringgit malaysia for the gold medal winner. I am not even sure if Michael Phelps is going to get tht much back in USA...haha...n yet we could not produce a gold medal winner after all these years..
Anyway.. this olympic is really great and i guess everyone would look forward to a better one in London in 2012. Bravo Australia!!
